A Chilly Yet Thrilling Weekend at Rockingham Dragway
As the autumn leaves gave way to the early signs of winter, Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina was abuzz with excitement. The Thanksgiving weekend marked the annual Holiday Jr. Jam championship, a spectacle of speed and skill in the world of Jr. Dragsters. Among the participants was our very own Hunter Marshall, a rising star in the Jr/Street class.
Hunter’s Drive to Success
Hunter, under the guidance of his father, IPT owner Jon Marshall, and with invaluable support from Daren Poole-Adams, has been a force to reckon with in the Jr/Street class. Jon’s vision of building a competitive car for his son came to fruition with the 2022 COPO Camaro #003, prepped and primed for racing glory.
The Race Day Experience
Despite the freezing temperatures that kept everyone huddled around heaters, the atmosphere was electric with over 200 jr dragsters roaring to life. Hunter, amidst this adrenaline-pumping environment, showcased his burgeoning talent. Although he didn’t clinch the top spot this time, his performance throughout the season was stellar enough to secure him the title of Jr Street Champion.
A Family Affair
What made this event more remarkable was its appeal to the entire family. The Holiday Jr. Jam isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of youthful ambition and familial bonds. For the Marshalls and many others, it was a weekend of shared experiences, laughter, and the joy of racing.

As the event wrapped up, one thing was clear: the excitement and the fun of the Jr. Dragster race at Rockingham Dragway has left an indelible mark on us. We’re already looking forward to next year’s race, anticipating more thrilling moments and heartwarming family experiences.
